Kalman Magyar (violin)

         Kalman (known by his nickname “Ocsi”) is widely regarded as North America’s premier Hungarian folk violinist.

         Classically trained at Manhattan School of Music’s Preparatory Division, Kalman is a former soloist with the Duquesne University Tamburitzans and has performed and recorded with many top folk musicians in Hungary and Transylvania.

         The son of Hungarian immigrants and born and raised in New Jersey, and co-founder of the 23-year old Eletfa Band from New Jersey/New York, Kalman now resides in Toronto.
